(KNZA)--Plans for a Brown County bridge replacement project northwest of Morrill are moving forward.
The Brown County Commission on Monday approved an agreement with BG Consultants of Manhattan for design and construction observation services for the replacement of the bridge located on a township road about 1 ¼ mile south of Sycamore Springs for a maximum cost of $15,857.
Engineer Tom Bennett with BG Consultants says plans are to let the project in February or March of next year.
Funding through a Kansas Department of Transportation program will pay for 90 percent of the total project cost up to $160,000. The county will be responsible for the remaining 10 percent.
The current bridge will be replaced with a 46 by 26 foot structure.
