Republican Bus Tour Stops In Atchison
10/31/2014

(KAIR)--The Kansas Republican Party continued their statewide bus tour Friday morning with a stop at Atchison's Riverfront Park.

Nearly thirty people braved the cold weather for a chance to meet with several party members running for various state and federal offices in next week's election.

Governor Sam Brownback addressed the crowd first, telling them that they have two choices when they vote both at the national and state level, the Kansas way or the Obama way.

Brownback did not hold back when talking about his opponent, Democrat Paul Davis, who he says is a two time Obama delegate, supports tax increases, wants to implement obamacare, and even took votes in the legislature to continue partial birth abortion.

Brownback was followed by Ashley Roberts, speaking on behalf of her father, United States Senator Pat Roberts. Attorney General Derrick Schmidt, Secretary of State Kris Kobach, state Insurance Commissioner candidate Ken Selzer, and state Treasurer Ron Estes also spoke.

The event wrapped up with Lieutenant Governor Jeff Colyer telling those gathered how the state's education system has improved in recent years, with Kansas rated as having the fifth best education system in the United States. He added that over $13,000 is available for every single student in the Atchison school district.

The tour, which will wrap up Saturday in Topeka, continued to Leavenworth after leaving Atchison.
