Annual Brown Co Veterans Day Dinner Set

(KNZA)--Plans have been made for the annual Brown County Veteran’s Day dinner.

A home cooked meal will be provided for Brown County Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces and their spouses on Monday, November 10 beginning at 6 in the evening at the National Guard Armory in Hiawatha.

The free meal will feature smoked meat with all the trimmings.

There will be an update on the local National Guard Battalion activities and plans for the future provided by Battalion Commander, Lt. Colonel Paul Schneider.  The Master of Ceremonies for the annual event will be  retired Colonel William Vonderschmidt of Hiawatha.  The guest speaker will be Lt. Colonel Erich Campbell, who is currently assigned as Senior Army Advisor to the Kansas Army National Guard.  

Those interested in attending are asked to make reservations on or before Monday, November 5 by calling the Hiawatha National Guard Armory at 742-5600 or 742-5630, Cherie Herlinger at 547-5520, or Sam Schuetz at 742-3481.  Those who need help with transportation should make their reservation by calling Cherie Herlinger.
