(KTNC)-Tri-state area residents are enjoying some of the lowest gasoline prices in the country.
According to the latest report from Triple-A Nebraska, the average fuel price in the Husker State is $3.21 a gallon – 14 cents lower than last year and four cents below the national average of $3.25 a gallon.
Gasoline prices in Kansas and Missouri are even lower than in Nebraska.
Missouri has the lowest prices in the country, with low-level octane blends averaging $2.97 a gallon. Kansas is also at the low end of the scale, reporting average gasoline prices of $3.06 a gallon.
Triple-A says many gas stations in the Omaha metro area lowered their pump prices to $2.99 in the last week, reflecting falling commodity prices for both crude oil and processed fuel.
The highest fuel prices in the nation are in Hawaii and California. One state bordering Nebraska to the west, Wyoming, ranks in the top 10, with unleaded averaging $3.45 a gallon.
