(KAIR)--A trial date has been set for an Atchison couple accused of taking financial advantage of a family member.
47-year-old Dennis Thummel and his 42-year-old wife Nancy both appeared in Atchison County District Court Friday morning to enter a not guilty plea to one count of felony mistreatment of a dependent adult. Judge Martin Asher then set a January 13th trial date for the couple.
The Thummels were arrested last March following a police investigation. It's alleged the couple had been taking financial advantage of a 24-year-old live in family member. Authorities say the crime allegedly took place between July 2007 and September 2012.
