Doniphan Co. Noxious Weed Director Resigns
09/30/2014

(KNZA)--Doniphan County Noxious Weed Director Phillip Berger has resigned.

The Doniphan County Commission on Monday accepted Berger’s letter of  resignation, effective October 31st.

Berger has served as noxious weed director since April 1993.

The Commission voted to advertise to fill the position.  In addition, they will contact Jeschke Weed Free Lawns to discuss a former proposal to contract for the treatment of noxious weeds throughout the county.

In other business, Sheriff Chad Clary presented the Commission with bids for the purchase of a new 2015 Dodge 4x4 pickup for the Sheriff’s Department.

Clary said he would accept the low bid from Briggs Dodge of  Topeka in the amount of $25,813.   It was among three bids received.

And discussion was held in regard to repairing the Courthouse ceilings in various offices. It was the consensus of the Commission to submit requests for proposals to repair the ceiling in the women’s restroom and the Treasurer’s office and have contractors assess the remaining ceilings and repair based on priority.
