(KTNC)--Mound City Aldermen authorized the purchase of a new police cruiser and a pickup for the Water Department this month.
Aldermen approved a motion to advertise for bids for a new patrol vehicle up to the cost $34,000, which is what is included in the Police budget for a new vehicle. Bids are due September 25th.
The council accepted a bid of $17,500 from Laukemper Dodge for a new pickup for the Water Department, and a bid of just over $7,700 from Palfleet Truck Equipment for a utility bed for the vehicle.
The council also accepted the emergency purchase of a new pump for the lift station at a cost $8,000. Mayor Chris Krueger says he authorized the purchase initially. The cost to repair the old pump was estimated at $4,000.
In other business, Aldermen accepted bids for lawn care at a couple city parks. T-Cozz Mowing was awarded the contract to take care of City Hall Park and Custom Waterworks was awarded the bid for Griffith Park.
And the council approved a motion to transfer funds from the Park Fund to cover a deficit of more than $31,000 in the Pool Fund. Most of the deficit is attributed to the installation of a new roof and concrete at the entrance to the pool.
