(KAIR)--A Platte City, Missouri man was seriously injured Sunday afternoon when his motorcycle crashed on U.S. 24 Highway in Leavenworth County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 37-year-old Michael Zimmerman was eastbound when he lost control of his motorcycle for an unknown reason. The motorcycle left the roadway and struck a guardrail.
Zimmerman was transported to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City with what the Patrol described as disabling injuries.
The Patrol says he wasn’t wearing a helmet when the wreck happened just east of Stillwell Road shortly before 3:30.
