(KMZA)--An on-the-run accused Sabetha rapist is now in custody.
That word comes in a press release from Nemaha County Attorney Brad Lippert who says 51-year-old William Lee Vogel was arrested Tuesday morning by the Fort Lauderdale, Florida Police Department.
Vogel is formally charged with rape in Nemaha County, accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 14.
It's alleged that the crime took place on or around August 10th, in Sabetha.
Vogel is currently in custody in the Broward County Jail in Fort Lauderdale, pending extradition to Kansas.
Once that happens, he will be booked into the Nemaha County Jail on bond of a million-dollars.
The search for Vogel has been underway since he fled from the local area, with Sabetha Police last month enlisting the assistance of the U.S. Marshals to help locate him.
