(KNZA)--A rescue from the Missouri River Thursday afternoon.
It happened in Saint Joseph where KQ2-TV is reporting that emergency crews were able to pull a 33-year-old man from the river after his truck was submerged near the Remington Nature Center shortly after 12 noon.
Police initially responded to the area after receiving a report that a man was attempting to keep his truck from going into the river.
Rescue crews located the man about a quarter mile north of the U.S. Highway 36 bridge, but had to coax him-reportedly due to his exhaustion-out of the water.
The man, whose name remains unreleased, was transported to a hospital for evaluation but is believed to have avoided any serious injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
