(KNZA)--A Wathena teenager was injured Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle roll-over wreck on Highway 36 in St. Joseph.
St. Joseph Police say 16-year-old Sam Poirier was eastbound, just east of Interstate 29 in St. Joseph, when his 1999 Ford Explorer ran off the road just after 7:30. The vehicle crossed the median, went airborne and flipped one and a half times before coming to rest in the westbound lanes of Highway 36.
KQ2-TV reports Poirier, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Heartland Regional Medical Center by ambulance with moderate head injuries.
Poirier was ticketed for failure to drive on the right side of the road.
