(KLZA)-- Richardson County  Commissioners continued their review of budget proposals for Fiscal Year 2014-15 during their weekly meeting Tuesday.  A public hearing on the budget proposal will be held at 11 a-m on Tuesday, September 16th.

Commissioners did approve accessing the additional 1% budget authority as allowed by state statute.

A proposal from Tichy Land Survey Company for the boundary and topographic survey for the proposed site of the Richardson County Law Enforcement Center at the former Armory on the west edge of Falls City was approved.  The fee for the survey will be $1,900.

Richardson County elected officials met with attorney Pam Bourne with the Woods & Aitken firm, with whom the county has contracted with to revise the Richardson County Employee Handbook.  The draft of the handbook was reviewed and clarification to questions provided.  Another meeting for further review of the draft will be scheduled in the coming weeks.

Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert discussed the establishment of a speed limit on the Preston Road. A resolution will be considered by the Commissioners next week to set the speed limit at 55 miles per hour.

Brush complaints were also reviewed. The Stella Southeast bridge project has been approved to proceed with bid letting. Huppert also noted the Verdon Northwest project is not progressing due to difficulties in acquiring the necessary right-of-way.
