(KLZA)-- Pawnee City Utility customers will soon be able to use credit cards to pay their bills and pay them online. The City will enter into an agreement with Nebraska.gov to manage the new system.
City Clerk Tammy Stephens says utility customers often ask if they can use credit cards to pay their bills. She noted customers will pay an additional 2.49-percent to use credit cards and 1.75-percent more to pay on-line.
Steve Glenn, owner of True Value Hardware in Pawnee City addressed the Council regarding purchasing items out of town. He suggested forming a committee to study the city needs for purchases. Council President Deb Klein suggested that since Mayor Westing was out of town, no action be taken on forming such a committee until he is involved.
A new 3-year interlocal agreement with the Village of Steinauer was approved. Pawnee City agrees to provide kenneling services for dogs and cats picked up by the Village of Steinauer for a fee. While an agreement has been in place previously, so far there has not been an animal kenneled in Pawnee City.
