(KAIR)--The 108th annual Atchison County Fair will kick off Tuesday, and is set to run through Saturday at the fairgrounds in Effingham.
The Fair will start with a parade at 7:30 on Main Street. The parade, which will have the theme “Dust Off Your Boots and Get Back To Your Roots” was originally scheduled to start at 7:00, but officials moved the time back to allow polls for the primary election to close.
Wednesday brings the Kiddee Pedal Power Contest starting at 4:30 at the Shelter house. Registration begins at 3:30.
The Lawn Garden Tractor Pull contest will take place Thursday evening at 7:00 East of Show Arena. Weigh in will be at 6:30. Hook up fees are $5 and an insurance charge of $5 per pull will be charged.
The 4-H livestock sale is scheduled for Friday evening at 7:00.
The BBQ Cookoff Contest will be held Saturday at the Fairgrounds. Judging will take place at 5:00, with prizes awarded to the top placers in each class. Classes include beef, pork, chicken, ribs, and dessert.
Free entertainment will be provided each night of the Fair at the Gazebo.
