(KAIR)--A school cook at Patton Junior High School in Leavenworth is celebrating after claiming a $10,000 prize from the Kansas Lottery this week.
55-year-old Petra Natale, won the money after she scratched a $10 lottery ticket. Natale says she plays scratch tickets all the time when she comes home from work, but the most she has won before now is $500. It did not sink in that she had won right way, and she had to call her husband over to make sure she wasn't seeing things.
Natale does have some plans for the money. She says there are some projects around her home, such as installing hardwood floors and an outdoor patio that she can finally get done now.
Natale purchased the winning ticket at Casey's General Store, located at 2004 Spruce Street in Leavenworth.
