(KNZA)--A familiar face has been hired as the new Hiawatha High School principal.
Following an executive session Monday evening, the USD 415 Board of Education voted unanimously to offer a two-year contract to Andrew Gaddis at an annual salary of $79,000. Gaddis has served as assistant principal and activities director since July 2011.
Gaddis will replace Alan Jeffery who is taking early retirement after serving as high school principal for 7 years. The board gave Superintendent Penny Hargrove permission to advertise to fill Gaddis' current position.
The board also voted to hire Stacie Mayor as the new high school counselor. Mayor currently serves as a counselor at Salina South High School and previously was with the Doniphan West School District. She will replace Sheila Hasenkamp whose resigning at the end of the current school year to take another position elsewhere.
In addition, the board voted to move Laura Coulter at the elementary school to 4/5 time. The board also voted to move Amber Boeckman from third grade teacher to fourth grade for the next school year due to enrollment numbers.
