(KAIR)--Atchison residents came together Saturday morning to help clean up the city.
According to Atchison Area Chamber of Commerce President Jacque Pregont, that group included over one hundred high school students, multiple families, the Atchison Community Young Professionals, and the Boy Scouts of America among many others.
Pregont says that one tire truck was completely filled with approximately 34,000 pounds of used tires, and there are more waiting for pickup later this week. She adds that about three city garbage trucks were filled with trash that was either picked up or brought into the drop off site at 1100 Main Street.
The Chamber would like to thank everyone who came out and worked so hard to beautify the city.
