(KNZA)--A Omaha, Nebraska man has been sentenced to just over three years in prison in connection with a single-vehicle wreck last may that killed a Holton woman.
20-year-old Daniel Martin was handed the sentence this week in Osage County District Court on a charge of involuntary manslaughter while driving under the influence.
According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, Martin was driving a car on May 11th of last year near Carbondale when he lost control of the vehicle, which left the road and struck a tree. His passenger, 29-year-old Tasha Arketa, died from injuries received in the wreck.
Prosecutors say Martin’s blood alcohol level measured almost two times the legal limit.
