(KNZA)-- A March 26th preliminary hearing has been set for a Hiawatha man facing a charge of aggravated battery.
Hiawatha Police Chief John Defore says Elton Provo was arrested early Sunday morning following an alleged physical altercation with his wife at a local bar in the 500-block of Oregon Street.
Defore says Provo’s wife was taken to the Hiawatha Community Hospital by private vehicle where she was treated for an eye injury and lacerations.
Provo made his first appearance in a Brown County courtroom Monday, and is currently free on a $10,000 bond.
