(KAIR)--Commuters using the Amelia Earhart Memorial Bridge for their daily commute may want to consider a different route for the next few days. According to a release from the Kansas Department of Transportation, both east and westbound lanes of US Highway 59 over the bridge will be reduced to one lane, one direction at a time, for navigational light work within the bridge arches. The work is set to take place between 8:30AM and 4:30PM each day, starting on Friday and running through Tuesday of next week, weather permitting.
Drivers should expect minor delays during the closures, and will be directed through the work zone via signage and cones. KDOT urges all motorists to obey all warning signs and exercise extreme caution when approaching and driving through the work zone.
