(KTNC) -- Mound City Aldermen made no decision this month on a request to locate an RV park in a residential area. Chad Keiffer, who owns property at 608 Gillis, asked the council for permission to locate a temporary RV park on the property to accommodate workers on the proposed wind farm in Holt County. The project would last approximately two years.
The property is located in an R-2 residential district, which does permit mobile homes and mobile home parks.
City Attorney Brian Tubbs told Aldermen that camper trailers would likely fit under the definition of mobile homes, but he said an argument could also be made that it would be considered commercial use. Tubbs also said that he has a conflict of interest in the matter.
Should the Mound City Council okay the park, plumbing would need to be added to the property – at the property owner’s cost. One meter would be allowed and it would be billed to the property owner.
After discussing the matter, the council asked Keiffer to come back to the March meeting with more information about the proposed RV Park.
