(KAIR)--The USD 377 School Board has recommended that a new member join the Keystone Special Education Inter-local group. Superintendent Steve Wiseman says the move by the Easton School District will place them in a group that is comparable in size to their current one. They are currently in a Special Education Co operative with Lansing, Leavenworth, and Toganoxie. Wiseman says this organization is going to be disbanded, with those schools planning to either provide special education services on their own, or combine into smaller groups to provide those services.
Wiseman says the board had to consider how the move would effect the Keystone group before granting their approval.
The board voted 6-0 to recommend that Easton be admitted to the Keystone group.
