(KNZA)---A bid letting has been set for a Doniphan County road improvement project.
The County Commission voted Monday to approve publication of a notice to bidders for the Castleton Road overlay project. The project consists of the grading and asphalt surfacing of 1.5 miles of the roadway from K-20 Highway. The project is being done in conjunction with the Kansas Department of Transportation Federal Funds Exchange program. A bid letting for the project is scheduled for March 10th.
In other business, bid proposals were received for the preparation of the 2013 Doniphan County audit.The commission accepted the low bid from the Platte City, Missouri accounting firm Karlin and Long LLC in the amount of $10,400. Bids were received from three firms.
And the commission accepted the resignation of William Fuhrman from the Doniphan County Rural Fire District #2 Board and appointed Brad Gilmore to fill the vacancy.
