(KTNC)--The snow has ended and now bitterly cold temperatures will settle in early this week.
A wind chill advisory is in effect for southeast Nebraska and northwest Missouri overnight Sunday through Monday morning.
Wind chill values are expected to drop as low as 25-degrees below zero in southeast Nebraska early Monday morning and as low as 20-below in northwest Missouri.
A wind chill advisory means that very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills. That could lead to frostbite and hypothermia if precautions are not taken. If you venture outdoors, wear a hat and gloves.
The advisory includes Richardson, Pawnee, Nemaha, Johnson, and Otoe Counties in Nebraska; and Holt, Atchison, and Nodaway in Missouri; and Doniphan County in Kansas.
Highs Monday are forecast near 10-degrees, with lows dropping below zero Monday nights. Temperatures are expected to then moderate, with highs in the 20s and 30s through the end of the week.
