(KAIR)--The football field at Atchison County Community High School will soon see a big improvement.
During their meeting Monday evening, the USD 377 school board considered funding for a new drivers education car, as well as the possibility of making some improvements to the lighting at the school's football field. Superintendent Steve Wiseman says that the lights on the field were installed in 1984, and are in need of replacement. The board agreed to the $5,486 cost associated with the project. A new car for the drivers education program was also approved.
Also during the meeting, elementary school principal Lisa Brookover presented sixth grader Logan Berg with a plaque from the state of Kansas recognizing him for his drawing in the annual state bus poster contest.
