(KNZA)--Brown County employees will receive a pay raise for 2014.
The Brown County Commission Monday approved a 25 cent an hour across-the-board pay raise for all full-time employees, effective January 5th.
The commission also approved a 60 cent an hour pay raise for assistant courthouse custodian Manual Martinez to $14.75 an hour, retroactive to November 25th.
In other business, bids were opened for a new truck for road district #3. Three bids were received.
On the recommendation of Road foreman Todd Gruber, the commission accepted a bid from Kansas City, Mo.-based Westfall O’Dell Truck Sales for a 2015 Mack truck at a cost of $107,404 with the trade-in of a 1999 Freightliner.
The bid was accepted even though it was about $5,200 higher than a bid submitted by Midway Ford Truck Center, of Kansas City, for a Western Star truck.
