(KTNC) - The Nemaha County Sheriff’s Department will get a new vehicle. The County Board voted last week to purchase a 2014 Heavy Duty 4-Wheel Drive SUV from Meyer-Earp Auto Center. Meyer-Earp’s bid was $34,025 for a Tahoe 4-by-4.
Nemaha County Visitor’s Committee Chair Mary Kruger presented the board with a letter of resignation from Janice Boden, who has been on the committee since July 2006.
The board accepted Boden’s resignation and appointed Sharon Hessler to fill the vacancy until July 31. Hessler had expressed interest in filling the vacancy.
In other business, the board authorized County Clerk Joyce Oakley to advertise for sealed bids for pest control at the HHS Building, Multi-Plex Building, Courthouse, and Jail.
The board also voted to change a couple meeting dates in December. The board will meet on Tuesday, December 10, to allow county officials to attend the NACO Convention. They will meet on Monday, December 23, due to the Christmas holiday.
