(KAIR)--A disturbance report earlier in the month led to an Effingham man facing several drug related charges. According to Atchison police chief Mike Wilson, Atchison police were called to a residence located at the 800 block of U.S49 just after 11:45 on the morning of November 8th for a report of a disturbance. Wilson says that when officers arrived, they found that that 34-year old Scott Strine of Effingham had already fled the scene with an unidentified 28-year old woman who had also been involved in the disturbance. However, authorities caught up to him shortly after. They stopped his vehicle near the 1100 block of U.S.59, and, upon investigation, discovered drug syringes as well as an undetermined amount of morphin in the vehicle.
Strine was not arrested at that time, but a district court warrant was soon issued for his arrest, and he was taken into custody around 9:50 Sunday morning, and faces charges of possession of morphine and drug paraphernalia. No bond information is available at this time.
