(KLZA) -- First District State Senator Dan Watermeier attended the recent presentation by the State Chamber Board in Falls City.
Watermeier who is serving his first term as Senator says he enjoys meeting with and hearing from constituents. The first term Senator said his door is always open and he invites you to call if you have questions or need his help.
Watermeier noted he was a bit surprised by the amount of time he spends doing duties as a Senator while the Unicameral is not in session.
He says one big issue in Nebraska is prison overcrowding. He said he is willing to help out if Richardson County needs anything in their effort to build a new jail.
Currently Nebraska’s prison system is at 145 – 150 percent of capacity.
