(KTNC) - The Falls City Rural Fire Department and Falls City Volunteer Fire Department were called to extinguish vehicle fires Tuesday evening – when the same car caught on fire twice.
The Rural Fire Department received the first call of a Buick Regal that had caught on fire near Salem shortly before 8:00 p.m. The car was fully engulfed in flames when fire fighters arrived to extinguish the blaze.
The car was towed to Inglis Repair in Falls City, where it caught on fire again late Tuesday.
Fire Chief Ken Simpson says the Fire Department was called to the fire behind Inglis Repair shortly after 11:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Ten fire fighters responded to the second call. Simpson says there was no damage other than to the vehicle. He says they don’t know what caused the vehicle to catch on fire the second time. Officials suspect a faulty catalytic converter may have sparked the initial blaze.
