(KNZA)- The Hiawatha Board of Education held a special meeting Thursday morning.
During the short meeting, the board approved the purchase of a 2008 4-wheel drive Dodge truck from Hiawatha Ford for $18,500 for use by the district’s maintenance personnel. The vehicle will replace a 1988 truck which had had major mechanical issues.
The board also approved the purchase of a new lift gate for an existing truck the district already owns at a cost of $2,551.
Following an executive session, the board voted to hire Andrew Gaddis as a power lifting sponsor.
