(KNZA )-A two-vehicle accident at the intersection of K-20 Highway and Coyote Road about six miles west of Horton Saturday evening sent five people to the hospital--including three children.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports 18-year-old Lasten Kranz of Whiting was traveling south on Coyote Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled out into the path of an eastbound car on K-20 driven by 24-year-old Marah Green of Horton, which struck Kranz‘s vehicle in the intersection.
Kranz, Green, and three passengers in Green’s vehicle were all transported to the Horton Community Hospital. The passengers included 12-year-old Dayrl Hooper, 4-year-old Alexander Berobles and 1-year-old Benjamin Berobles, all of Horton. The two youngest passengers, who were in child restraint seats, received possible injuries.
A newborn infant in the Green vehicle, who was in a child restraint seat, wasn’t hurt.
The accident was reported shortly before 7 Saturday evening.
