(KTNC) - The Falls City Police Department is getting ready to move. The department’s administrative offices and dispatching will be moving next week to 2307 Barada Street – the location of the new City Hall building.
According to Chief John Caverzagie, the move will take place beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 29, and will include the Richardson County 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point.
While the move does present a challenge, requiring the coordination of several entities, Caverzagie does not anticipate any changes in dispatching or interruptions in communications during the move.
He says the department will maintain their administrative phone lines during the move for dispatching services. All 9-1-1 calls will be temporarily routed to Johnson County, and the calls will be transferred to the Falls City Police Department lines for immediate dispatch.
Caverzagie says it may take six to eight hours to move the 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point to its new location.
