(KTNC) - The Property Assessment Division of the Nebraska Department of Revenue is reminding property owners that county assessors will be sending notices of valuation change on or before June 1st.
Assessors are required to send a notice if there was an increase or decrease in the assessed value of a property in the last year.
Property owners who disagree with the assessed value can file a protest with the county Board of Equalization – whether they receive a notice of valuation change or not.
The protest may be filed in-person or by mail with the county clerk in the county where the property is located on or before July 1st. Requirements for filing protest are on the Notice of Valuation Change.
More is available by contacting the county clerk where the property is located, or under “Featured Information” on the Department of Revenue website, www.revenue.ne.gov/PAD.
