Danny Groshong

( KNZA )--A 22-year-old Horton man has been sentenced to nearly 13 years in prison on two felony child sex charges after his probation is revoked.

A Brown County District Court Judge Friday sentenced Danny Groshong to 155 months in prison on a charge of rape and to 59 months in prison on a charge of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.  The sentences were ordered to be served at the same time and Groshong was given credit for time served.

Groshong was convicted as a juvenile in 2008 on the charges.  He faced the adult sentence after he was found to have violated conditions of his juvenile sentence.

Groshong also faces a June 18th jury trial in Atchison County on a charge of criminal possession of a firearm.  He pleaded not guilty to the felony charge in late April.

Groshong was arrested early March 14th by Atchison Police after they received reports of gunshots fired in a north Atchison neighborhood.  Police say a rifle was found in the back seat of his car after he was stopped a short time later.
