(KAIR) -- Atchison utility crews will be “smoke testing” sections of the sanitary sewer system from Atchison Street to M Street between River Road and N. 5th Street on Wednesday.
Residents along nearby streets may also be impacted.
Required for regulatory compliance, crews will introduce smoke into the sanitary sewer line, then walk the neighborhood to observe and document any surfacing smoke.
The smoke traces used in the testing are harmless; no one should be alarmed.
However, if the smoke should appear inside your home, call the Public Works HelpLine immediately at 913-367-5561 as it could indicate a problem with your sewer line.
