(KAIR) -- Atchison County Commissioners on Monday used their meeting to take a road trip around the county to view current road and maintenance issues.
The three hour journey started on Rooks Road south of Atchison, where a citizen at a previous meeting had requested four-tenths of a mile of the road be chip and sealed.
The board then viewed three intersections along 262nd Road between US 73 and 59 highways that will soon be replaced with state funds.
Cummings was the next stop to examine conditions along McPherson Road to 214th Road and from 214th to Lincoln Road.
Commissioners then examined K-116 to Edwards Road and from Edwards to the city of Effingham.
While in Effingham, Commissioners viewed the renovated county ambulance building and stopped by the Noxious Weed building.
The tour continued through the city of Muscotah before stopping at Atchison County Lake.
At the lake, they heard a request from lake caretakers Dennis and Gail Stattler to renovate their residence.
