(KAIR) -- A one-point-six-five million dollar bond issue was overwhelmingly passed by voters for the Buchanan County R-IV district Tuesday night.
Roughly 80 percent of the 337 voters passed the proposal that will include improvements to the gymnasium, heating and cooling systems, new vocational/agriculture facility, roofs, windows and electrical upgrades.
An extension of the 84 cent per 100 dollar valuation will allow the district to sell the bonds for the work.
Upgrades will take place at both the junior-senior high in DeKalb and the elementary school in Rushville.
