(KAIR) -- A vehicle reported stolen in Atchison over the weekend has been recovered in Topeka with two Topeka men in custody.
That word from Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson, who says they were notified by Topeka Police early Tuesday morning of its recovery.
Wilson says after chasing the stolen vehicle, Topeka Police arrested 24-year-old Matthew Rice and 23-year-old Richard Herechski.
The duo was booked into the Shawnee County Jail on the charge of possession of a stolen vehicle for allegedly taking the 2011 Chevy Cruze from the 800 block of Spring Street.
Wilson says investigators are currently determining if the duo is connected to a recent string of criminal activity involving motor vehicles over the past few weeks.
