(KAIR) -- iPads are now in the hands of senior students at Atchison County Community High School in Effingham and the devices will soon be distributed to the rest of the students at the high school and Junior High as well.
That follows a special meeting of the USD 377 school board Wednesday, where an IPAD policy handbook was adopted.
Superintendent Steve Wiseman says those students not yet in the senior class must be accompanied by a parent when attending a policy meeting, required prior to receiving an IPad (Play Audio)
The meeting requirement was waived for seniors due to the fact that a majority of them are already 18 and can sign the consent forms.
Wiseman adds that a distribution fee for the iPads will not be assessed for the remainder of the 2012-13 school year.
