City Commissioner/EMS Director Jeremy Forkenbrock demonstrates the use of a defibrillator to his fellow Commissioners.
(KNZA)--A purchase, now approved by the Horton City Commission, could save lives in the time of an emergency.
That is why the Commmissioners have been exploring options, and possible locations of placement, for a defibrillator device in the city.
It was earlier this month that Commissioner Jeremy Forkenbrock, who also serves as the director for Horton's EMS service, provided a demonstration of defibrillator use for the Commission(Play Audio)
Although they first tabled the matter, in order to explore additional cost options, the Commission, during their latest meeting, approved the purchase of an automated external defibrillator device for the cost of around 14-hundred-dollars.
It will be placed in the hallway of the Horton Blue Building, accessible if an emergency situation should arise.
