Secretary of Agriculture Dale Rodman will help wrap up the Neighbor to Neighbor statewide food drive on Kansas Agriculture Day, Tuesday, March 19, at 10:30 a.m. at Harvesters – The Community Food Network, at 215 SE Quincy, Topeka, KS 66603.
The month-long food drive to reduce hunger in Kansas is jointly hosted by the Kansas Department of Agriculture, Dillon’s Food Stores, Harvesters – The Community Food Network, the Kansas Food Bank, the Second Harvest Community Food Bank and the Kansas agricultural community. Secretary Rodman will be joined by leaders from the food banks, Dillon’s and the Scott Technology Magnet School, and representatives from the Kansas agricultural community at the wrap-up event, where they will participate in a “BackSnack” program volunteer project. Backsnack provides backpacks of food to low-income children for the weekend to combat weekend hunger.
Secretary Rodman will announce how much food was raised during the month-long, statewide food drive.
