(KAIR) -- Atchison County Commissioners are looking to cut energy costs for county-owned buildings.
Jay Hurla with 360 Energy made a presentation Wednesday afternoon profiling the cost savings Atchison Senior Village will have as a result of energy upgrades.
Hurla says 360 started with Senior Village’s analysis about a year and a half ago, which led to replacement of their boilers, one of which was over 50 years old.

Hurla then asked officials present about a wish list of projects in county buildings they would like to see create energy systems.
Several spoke up, including Commissioner Jeff Schuele and Maintenance Supervisor Joe Bowen.

Sheriff Jack Laurie also expressed the desire to reform the water softening system to lower maintenance on jail cells.
Commissioners didn’t act on any project request and Hurla is expected to visit Commissioners in the future to follow up.
