(KAIR) -- Atchison County Commissioners on Wednesday approved their annual chemical bids from the Noxious Weed Department.
Commissioners accepted the bid from Midwest Fertilizer of Nortonville for 89-thousand-641 dollars.
It was among three bids received and 12 that were sent out.
Commissioners also interviewed two finalists in executive session for the new position of Special Projects Manager.
This position will assist department heads in modernizing the budget process, work with solid waste reform, and assist in IT upgrades which will lead to more online service options for citizens.
County Commissioner Jeff Schuele says they will interview the final candidate Monday and look to act on hiring at the March 6th meeting.
