(KTNC) - The Nemaha County Sheriff’s Department and the Nebraska State Patrol are investigating the death of a rural Auburn woman, who was apparently struck by a vehicle.
Authorities say the body of 69-year-old Barbara Bolen was found along Highway 136 near her home two miles east of Auburn. Bolen was apparently struck while she was going to her mailbox Wednesday evening. The Nemaha County Sheriff’s Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting the fatality shortly before 8:30 Wednesday evening.
The vehicle that struck Bolen was not at the scene when authorities arrived, and an investigation is continuing to identify the vehicle and driver involved.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact either the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office at 402-274-3139, or the Nebraska State Patrol at 402-471-4545.
