(KAIR) -- A majority of Monday’s Atchison County Commissioner meeting was spent discussing potential bridge improvements in the county with two concerned citizens.
Dennis Bell and Dan Schletzbaum live near the Atchison County Lake in the northern part of the county and said some dated bridges near their property are nearly impassable with modern equipment.
Commissioner Mike Bodenhausen says a few ideas to resolve the situation were discussed. (Play Audio)
Commissioners also approved a bid with Exchange National Bank for a five-year loan with a 1.9 percent interest rate that would go toward potential work on renovating Memorial Hall, as well as potentially remodeling the transfer station into a county ambulance station.
Bodenhausen says Commissioners have received five applications for the new position of Special Projects Manager, with interviews set to commence today and Monday.
