( KNZA )-A new computer software program will be installed at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department and Holton Police Department, allowing the agencies to share data with other entities throughout the state.
The Jackson County Commission approved purchase of the new program, called Enterpol, during a recent special meeting for a total cost of $85,633.
The purchase will be made with 911 funds. It includes the software for both departments and a new server for the sheriff’s office.
911 funds will also cover 30 percent of the cost for a new server for the Holton Police Department, with the police department covering the more than 35-dollar remaining costs.
Enterpol software is currently being used in Atchison, Brown, and Pottawatomie Counties, along with local tribal police departments.
