(KAIR) -- An Atchison business and the buildings haunted past will be featured on national television Saturday night.
Pepper Mill & Company, located at 101 Commercial Street, and its paranormal activity will be featured at nine on the Bio Channel as part of episode 54 of the “My Ghost Story” television series.
A night of paranormal investigation began in May 2012 where Omaha-based Paranormal Distraction performed EPV readings, recordings and video tape of the building.
The ghost hunters then submitted their findings to Bio’s parent company A&E for on-air consideration.
In July 2012, Pepper Mill co-owner Albert Valdez was contacted by A&E, saying the footage and story was accepted and shortly thereafter, Valdez and the other co-owner, Brett Huskamp spent another night with A&E crews to re-enact segments of the original paranormal film.
Valdez got the call from producers earlier this week notifying them of the airdate.
A public watch party will take place at Pepper Mill Saturday night.
The building, built in 1870, was originally the Atchison & Nebraska Railroad headquarters.
In 1887, the building was sold to Miss Ella Donahue who turned it into a hotel for “female boarders.”
On June 5, 1900, she sold it to LuLu Howard, known as Atchison’s most famous madam.
After she was arrested in 1913, it was closed until 1916 when William Dolan opened a coffee factory, which later became a candy factory before becoming a peanut factory in 1930.
In 1964, Henry Frantz bought the building and opened a woodworking factory.
It was at that point when it was renovated and later became a restaurant.
