( KNZA )- One Holton High School student remained hospitalized Saturday afternoon following a roll-over accident on U.S. 75 Highway Friday night, north of Topeka
Three other students and the driver of the Holton School District van they were riding in, 44-year-old Dena Swisher, were treated at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka for injuries and later released.
The Topeka Capital Journal reports the student who remains hospitalized is being held for observation, with injuries not believed to be life-treatening.
They were returning to Holton following the Perry-Lecompton basketball game when the accident occurred around 9:15 Friday night. The students are cheerleaders at the school, and Swisher is the Holton High cheerleader sponsor along with a special education teacher at the school.
The Shawnee County Sheriff's office says the van left the highway near the Soldier Creek bridge and rolled at least once into a ditch.
The sheriff's office said road conditions were slick at the time due to the snowfall that evening.
The accident remains under investigation.
