USD 115 Board Seeks Public Input on Future of B & B Facility
( KMZA )- The Nemaha Central USD 115 Board of Education is holding community meetings to receive public input on three options for the future of the district’s facilities.
The first meeting was held Monday evening at the Nemaha Valley Elementary and Middle School in Seneca.
The second meeting will take place this ( Tuesday ) evening at the B&B Junior-Senior High School in Baileyville and the third meeting Wednesday evening at the Nemaha Valley High School in Seneca. The meetings will begin at 7 o’clock each evening in the gymnasium at each building.
The agenda for the evening will start with the whole group in the gym where Superintendent Darrel Kohlman will present information regarding facilities. Those attending will then break into smaller groups to gather input from patrons on the pros and cons of each of the three options.
Option 1 is for all 6th-8th graders to attend classes at the B & B facility, 9th-12th graders at Seneca, and pre-kindergarten through 5th grades at Seneca.
Option 2 is to close the B&B Facility, with students attending facilities in Seneca
And Option 3 is to transition over time the closing of the B & B facility, with the junior high closing first followed by the high school.
The board of education is expected to make a decision at their March meeting.
